PTFE, more commonly known as Teflon® is not an elastomer but rather a thermoplastic resin compounded of fluoroethylene.
PTFE is most frequently used in severe operating conditions that require a much more sophisticated material than typical rubber O-rings. PTFE O-rings withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 500 degrees F and resist a wide variety of chemicals. The friction coefficient of PTFE is among the lowest of all industrial materials and it also offers good chemical inertness and no water absorption.
Our kit comes in an assortment of 325 pieces, with a selection of 36 of the most often required sizes. Each kit contains an identification card that shows sizes and dimensions, as well as silhouettes to assist in identification.
